Factor Eight

Andrew Bennett (alias Factor Eight) is an award-winning composer and experimental electronic musician.

Factor Eight is making waves with acclaimed works like the orchestral-electronic hit ‘The Beginning’ placed on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, the SOCAN Award-Winning film score ‘Impetus’, and ambitious performance art projects like the destruction of his most recent album ‘A DØ’.

At the intersection of mind-bending sound design and cinematic compositions, Factor Eight draws audiences to emotionally connect through vibrant harmonies and textural details. The 5-time WCMA Nominated artist has collaborated with artists and brands around the globe that include FOX Broadcasting Company, GMC, ESPN, HEAD SKI, Salomon, X-Games, The United Way, Jaybird, Whistler Blackcomb, and Gillette.

His work is recognized by four Western Canadian Music Award nominations for Visual Media Composer of the Year in 2016, ’17, ‘18 and ‘21, Instrumental Artist of the Year nomination in 2021, Saskatchewan Music Awards nomination in 2018, and SOCAN Foundation Award in 2018.

Based in SK, Canada, Factor Eight brings earnest passion to each and every project, ultimately striving to inspire emotion in his audience. Supported by Canada Council for the Arts, FACTOR Canada, SK Arts, Creative Saskatchewan, and Canadian Mental Health Association Saskatoon, his upcoming album entitled II is no exception.

In an effort to end the stigma around mental illness, Factor Eight is going public with his own experiences and challenges with bipolar disorder. Watch his very personal new music video for the first single ‘Fear, My Friendhere (*content warning: this video deals with mental illness and self-harm*). 100% of proceeds from sales of the single and album will be donated to the CMHA Saskatoon.
